Conflict of Interest Policy

  1. NCROCAP shall not accept payments, gifts, or compensation of any kind from any commercial enterprise or representative of commercial enterprises. All other payments, gifts, or compensation of any kind, except for membership dues through AACAP and conference fees, shall not be accepted without approval of NCROCAP Executive Committee (NCROCAP-EC).
  2. Events and educational materials:
  • In order to minimize the risk or appearance of conflict of interest, NCROCAP shall follow these guidelines to approve any event or educational material created, hosted, organized, and/or promoted by NCROCAP including, but not limited to, any CME event such as the annual conference, presentation, group discussion, conference, consultation, and informational material. One goal of NCROCAP is to provide quality education and consultation, addressing theoretical issues and clinical innovations of relevance to our members. The goal of these events and educational materials shall not be the promotion of any specific medication, product, service, treatment, or a commercial enterprise.
  • Approval of an event or educational material shall be by majority vote of the NCROCAP-EC. The EC shall take into account the quality of evidence, funding sources of studies and characteristics of the presenter. The following is presented to the EC in person or by email:
    • Name, affiliation, credentials, relevant experience, and full description of any financial interests in pharmaceutical industry, health care organizations, treatments, and businesses of the presenter.
    • Title of the event or educational material.
    • Goals and brief outline of the event or the proposed educational material.
    • Relevant evidence related to the presentation including citations and text if available.
  • If approved, the presentation or educational material shall include the following:- i) Full disclosure of any financial interests in pharmaceutical industry, health care organizations, treatments, and businesses of the presenter.
    • Review of relevant evidence including details about funding sources of any relevant studies.
    • Opportunities to hear opposing points of view.
